Wild Sky is a well-wrought play with endless dramatic tension. It skirts on a poetry vein that allows us to see the inter-locking lives of Josie Dunne and Tom Farrell. Josie who became politicised after meeting with those unmanageables, Inghinidhe na hÉireann and Tom who meanered into history because he was deeply in love with Josie, only no one told Josie. Her political drive was his inspiration, he was secretly hoping that 1916 would somehow act as a catalyst for a more permenant and intimate bond between them. Things are never as they seem, the catalyst was far bigger than either of them had imagined. As the Rising plays out, there is a crisscrossing of thecost in human terms and in private terms.
